The Andreas Florez Travel Scholarship for Artistic Excellence

Andreas Florez was a talented young musician with a passion for travel. He graduated from RMIT in 2015, but just months later was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive strain of acute myeloid leukaemia. He passed away six months later, just after releasing his debut EP and before he could realise his dream of pursuiing a music career in the US.

The Andreas Florez Travel Scholarship for Artistic Excellence was established by the Florez family in 2016. The scholarship will enable a gifted music, film or design student to study overseas.

You can support Andreas’s legacy by donating to the scholarship, to give this life-changing opportunity to a talented student every year into the future, and support his family’s goal to raise $250,000.

Remit is the first record label tied to an institution in Australia. Its aims are to give music industry students a hands on and professional understanding of the ins and outs of a record label while providing an inclusive space that looks to help any aspiring artist currently studying at RMIT.

Remit was officially launched in 2015 and only looks to grow as fresh students bring new ideas to the table. Throughout 2017 we look forward to sharing with you what we have been getting up to behind the scenes and showcasing the talented students currently studying our course.

Keep checking in for our newest artists profiles and up and coming events we have coming later on in the year.
